On October 3rd, 2017 the powerful New York Yankees, who finished the season 91-72, took on the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The first game of the playoffs got off to a bad start for Luis Severino giving up 3 runs on 4 hits and taking out by manager Joe Girardi in the first inning. It was 3-0 going into the bottom of the first while Ervin Santana comes out for the Twins and gives up a 3 run homer to Didi Gregorius. Just like that the Yankees are tied. The Yankees bullpen came in handy. Aaron Judge hit his first home run of the postseason as the Yankees show fire and fury and beat the Twins 8-4 and move on to play the Indians in the ALDS. Mike Francesa said on Wednesday, Oct. 4th that "Severino was extremely nervous". That would explain why he did so poorly. Next time the Yankees play will be Oct.5th against the Indians.
