Today's special edition of Giving Tuesday focuses on One America Appeal, an organization that came together with the support of five former Presidents: Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama. The charity will support hurricane relief in Houston, Florida, Puerto Rico and the American Virgin Islands.
All donations will go to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. In Texas, monies will go to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund which focuses on the greater Houston region as well as the Rebuild Texas Fund which will assist communities across the state. In Florida, monies will go to the Florida Disaster Fund, which is the state’s official private fund to assist the communities as they respond to and recover from destructive storms. In the Caribbean, donations will be distributed to Unidos Por Puerto Rico, which was launched by both the office of First Lady Beatriz Rosselló and a private sector coalition. In the Virgin Islands, donations will go to The Fund for the Virgin Islands, which was established 25 years ago by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands for relief efforts
Getting involved makes a difference both in your life and the lives of others. Every Tuesday, we will feature a video devoted to a charity. Take a minute to watch and think about how you can contribute. It doesn't take money. Sometimes it's your time and service that matters most.
This week we feature the One America Appeal. Watch the video to find out more.
