What is HOSA? Most people don't know what HOSA is or what it means. HOSA used to stand for Health Occupation Students of America, but was recently changed to Future Health Professions due to the original meaning not sounding as important as the actual organization is. HOSA helps with preparing high school(10-12 grade) students who want to be healthcare workers. The class teaches you with hands on activities like, First Aid, safely moving patients, and other things you'd likely do in a healthcare facility. Even though it doesn't provide any college credits, it can give you a head start if you go to college. Plus, the class also provides useful skills to use on any situation where someone is injured or in distress. The class can even certify you for CPR if you take the 2nd year of the class. That being said, it’s a very useful class for anyone interested in being a healthcare worker or becoming a better person with the skills and knowledge that HOSA teaches you.
