RIP Adam West: The Original Batman

In 2017, the debate about who the real Batman is usually boils down to Christian Bale or Michael Keaton. For those who know a bit more of the character's history, the original batman, Adam West, was pronounced dead on Friday night at a hospital in Los Angeles. The caped crusader of the 1960’s batman series died surrounded by wife, children and grandchildren after a battle with Leukemia. The 88-year-old actor was also known for his roles in The Young Philadelphians (1959), Robin Crusoe on Mars (1964), and voicing the Adam West character on Seth Macfarlane’s hit animated comedy Family Guy.

British Government in Turmoil

As if American politics weren’t crazy enough, our neighbors across the Atlantic have quite a political crisis on their hands as well. British Prime Minister Theresa May’s future remains uncertain after the conservative majority was defeated in England’s general elections last Thursday. Prime Minister May executed a restricting of her cabinet on Sunday while skepticism of her future continued to arise. Among the most notable cabinet moves was reinstating Michael Gove as environmental secretary, after leaving the cabinet last year for challenging May for leadership in the conservative party. May is expected to declare to her colleagues that the government will be ran in a more collegiate, less controlling manner.

Nadal Wins his 10th French Open

After his first French Open victory in 2005, Rafael Nadal said that in 2017 he would be fishing on his boat in Majorca. Now over a decade later, Nadal still finds himself wreaking havoc on the world tennis spectrum, winning his legendary 10th French Open title. In a sport where age becomes an obstacle early, tennis is still dominated by the 31-year-old Nadal who can’t seem to stop accumulating accomplishments. No other male tennis player has won more than 7 titles at this particular Grand Slam event. Age will eventually catch up to Nadal as no athlete can beat father time, however, for now, Spain’s prized tennis gem has no signs of slowing down.
