After winning the District title last season, the Wellsboro Girls volleyball team came out with a bang. During preseason they practiced from 9:00- 3:00 every day. Hard work and determination are what makes a districts winning team and that’s how the girls wanted to start off their season. To be a great team you must all work well together. In order to bond and know each other in a deeper level, every year the girls complete the same tradition. “One of our preseason traditions is to have a sleep in in the gym where we all stay one night in the gym. We usually paint our volleyballs, practice, do some fun activities with our team, and at around midnight we go to Duncan Donuts,” captain Morgan Florio told me.
I asked the girls a little more about their preseason tradition and they told me, “It makes us closer as a team, helps us get to know each other, and builds the team atmosphere.”- Kirsten Florio and Jillian Graver
“During preseason we always do a midnight practice and its always super fun because coach plans fun activities and games.” – Sydney Tremper
