On May 20, 2017, there was a car cruise that took place at the local VFW it started 11am-3pm. The car cruise consisted of old cars that are now considered antiques, as well as some more modern fixed up cars. During the event, there were many activities and experiences taking place besides just checking out the cars. There was a DJ who was playing ‘70’s and ‘80’s music and drawing tickets so people could win prizes. There was a kettle corn booth that was near the navy memorial on the corner of the VFW. There were a lot of people who showed up even though the temperature rose; people were looking at the cars and talking to the people who organized this event. The types of cars that were there were vans, sports cars, trucks, and convertibles and all of them were still in very good shape and well taken care of. Overall, the car cruise was small; but, it got people in the community out and about enjoying the nice day.
