Ringling Brothers Final Days

The circus will not be coming to town anymore. Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus held its final performance at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY on Sunday, May 21st. Known for 146 years as "the Greatest Show on Earth," the end seemed inevitable as circuses and animal-performance shows across the country have seen declining attendance and the shrinking attention spans of children who used to marvel at the spectacles under the Big Top. The onslaught of animal rights activist who highlighted the poor treatment of circus animals didn't help matters either.

Pippa Gets Married

More proof that the rich and royal are just like everyone else. Pippa Middleton (Kate's sister) got married and the wedding seemed like a "splendid" affair that went of without a hitch, But the pictures of the post wedding celebration showed a different side. Princess Kate spent time scolding the mischievous younger members of the wedding party and even made Prince George cry.

Mt. Everest Loses a Step

Climbers have confirmed that Mount Everest's famous Hillary Step has collapsed, making the already dangerous ascent even more hazardous. The step was a near-vertical 39 foot outcrop that stood on the mountain's southeast ridge. It's thought that Nepal's devastating 2015 earthquake contributed to the the step's collapse.
