Plastic Bottle Building
Built using the mantra of “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” as inspiration, the EcoARK building in Taipei, Taiwan was constructed from 1.5 million recycled plastic bottles. Designed by architect Arthur Huang, the nine-story $3 million pavilion is powered by solar energy and is even strong enough to withstand fires and earthquakes.

The Apple Spaceship Campus
Apple is busy launching it's "spaceship." The company has spent years building an addition to its campus at One Infinite Loop in Cupertino, California. When it's complete, the campus will be a home base for about 13,000 Apple workers. "It's gonna be a center for innovation for generations to come," Tim Cook said.

Museum at Sea
Yet another example of a building that looks like it came from outer space, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a surreal structure emerging from the sea around it. The museum was conceived as an extension of Saadiyat Island by lead architect Jean Nouvel and it took six years to pump water out of the site before construction could actually begin.

A Real Moving Camera
Austin photographer Ian Kasnoff made his first Trailer Camera in 2014 when he was inspired to turn an 8-foot box trailer he owned into a camera obscura. The newest version, Trailer Camera 3.0, is based in a 16-foot cargo trailer complete with built-in darkroom and uses light-sensitive photographic paper to capture large-format images.

The Vertical Gardens of Columbia
The Santalaia building, located in Bogota, Colombia, is covered with more than 85,000 plants. Completed in 2015 after years of planning, the garden is based on a series of vertical pillars – each with its own vegetal cover consisting of various endemic species that boost the biodiversity.The garden can produce enough oxygen for more than 3,100 people every year, filter more than 2,000 tons of harmful gases and removes more than 881 pounds of dust from the atmosphere.
