The Yankees and Cubs played a 3 game series in Chicago and the Cubs were off to a good start with a two nothing lead going into the top of the ninth of game 1. then Brett Gardner steps up to the plate: 2 on 2 outs and a 2-2 count in the top of the 9th. Brett Gardner destroys a ball to right field and the Yankees are on top 3-2. They go onto the bottom of the 9th where Chapman had to face his former team, with a runner on second he gets the two outs and the Yankees take game 1. Game 2 started out as a hit feast. The Yankees were off to a very early 5-0 lead in the first and the lead kept growing. Of course, my TV, phone, and Internet went out in the middle of 3rd inning so I had to turn on the radio to listen to John Sterling for the rest of the game. Aaron Hicks remained hot as he hit as 3 run home run in the Yankees 11-6 win of the second game. Then last night it took 18 innings to finish this one. The Yankees were up 4-1 going into the top of the ninth before Chapman blew a save then went 18 innings and the Yankees swept the Cubs and won this game 5-4. They will now play in Cincinnati for a short series of only 2 games.
