Believe me, I know… life tends to be a struggle and sometimes there is just way too many things to keep track of. First you have to be here, then you have to be there, and the next thing you know you end up having to be in multiples places at once.
We have all been there. Between school, work, personal life, health, social media, etc. there is many things that someone could be in charge of in their life and sometimes it can be overwhelming. Your time management goes out the window and you end up stressed. No one deserves to be in this situation and there is an easy way to avoid these very stressful times in everyone’s life.
There is a simple solution to these crazy points in life. If you see everything with your eyes, on paper, directly in front of you, then maybe it will help control your activities and responsibilities for each and every day. This solution... is a planner.
Now I hear you, “what if I’m not creative enough for a planner?”, or “how do I even set up a planner to help keep my life more in tact?’”. The answer to your questions is about to be revealed. I am going to give tips on how to maintain a comfortable controlled life typically for a student in high school. (However, you can use many of these tips no matter what the reason for the planner to begin with.) If you would like to see how to keep everything up to date and spick and span, just continue reading below.
The different types of planners that everyone can have.
When it comes to planning, you can have a planner in many different styles or types. You can even stick with a traditional calendar to start if you feel like that is what would fit you best. There is something called bullet journaling for the more creative mind. However, there is always the option of having a daily planner just for YOU. It can be filled with information you feel best suits your life and can be setup in a way that makes you feel comfortable. You never want a planner that is supposed to make you life easier, to actually make your life a lot more stressful.
Page ideas that can be included in a daily planner.
You should always start your planner with some type of key. This is where you could include the different colors and hints that you are going to be using in your planner. For example, you could have a bullet point that would mean your daily tasks, or you could have an arrow that would be pointing towards the right for a task that needs to be migrated to the near future. You should also include a setup for each week that could include everyday tasks that need to be completed and you could also add a touch of color and creativity to the pages by adding the weather or your daily water intake or something along those lines. Just jazz everything up in places that you are comfortable with it. Lastly, you could include a page at the end of every month that could be used for extra notes, or reflections, or memories that you have experienced in the recent past. This will make someone feel more at home and more relaxed when seeing how much they have actually accomplished in the past.
Materials that you may need to spice up things within your planner.
You are going to need a few materials when creating your pages for your planner besides just a piece of paper and a pen. First, you will definitely need your planner most importantly. Also, you may want to pick up some sticky notes or tabs that you can insert as necessary to add extra notes to yourself as you see fit. Then, you are going to need a bunch of different colored and shaped pens or pencils to write with to create a sense of uniform in each section throughout your planner. Lastly, some experienced planners have suggested to use washi tape on the edges of each planner page. Or, you could go online and type into Google, “planner printable stickers” and you can order many stickers specifically for planners off of any Etsy shop or you can print them out yourself if you have the correct resources.
I hope these tips to create the perfect planner for you have helped you out. These things are always optional and when it comes to planning, you can use whatever you would like. Come up with some new ideas, think out of the box, and be original. This could never hurt anyone to try out for themselves and who knows, maybe it could actually be a new hobby for you and you will actually see a change in how stressful and cluttered your life is. Happy planning!
