Every year Jostens gives a National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award. They usually compete within counties. Jostens is the website and business our yearbook is made through. The National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award is when you’ve completed at least 50% coverage rate our of your entire school, which last year Wellsboro Area School District got 75% covered. All the deadlines are met which means the yearbook comes out one time, and has all of the pages created on time. The sales goal is met. For the last two years our yearbook staff at Wellsboro has won this award. Then they plan on getting it this year as well.
Junior Deana Fillmore who has been yearbook staff for two years, including this year. She says, “Getting this award makes me feel very accomplished, because last year we did hard work. It shows me no matter how hard, or long it takes it we can always get it done. And we can always do it right.” The yearbook staff has received both a banner, and a place for the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award. Advisors Mrs. Gastrask, and Mrs. Szentesy have been advising for nine years. Yearbook staff members Rebekah Sinkler (11) and Deana Fillmore (11) have hung the banner in the commons for everyone to proudly see!
