DV beats Crestwood on home turf

Delaware Valley shut out Abington Heights with a score of 16-0 at a home game, even through the challenging weather. The Warriors battled against Crestwood in a close game that ended with the Warriors coming out on top. 

DV – 6, Crestwood – 5

The Warriors faced off against Crestwood High School on April 10 in Warrior Stadium. The game was a nail biter that left fans and players in suspense all the way to the final goal.

The first goal of the game was scored by Crestwood, but the rest of the game was anyone’s.

“It was nice to see us working as a team,” said sophomore Bailey Fedun who scored four goals for the Warrior’s offense.

Senior Alexa Butaitis aided in the Warrior’s offense by scoring one goal and senior Sera Shafer contributed one assist. In addition sophomore Lauren Matarazzo scored one goal and had two assists.

“It was a very competitive game and it felt good to come up on top. We really connected and our team came together as one,” said Matarazzo.

For the Warrior’s defense, junior Mandy Xu defended the Warrior’s goal with 11 saves.

Crestwood beat the Warrior’s last season by one goal, while this season the Warrior’s defeated Crestwood by one goal. The Warriors and Crestwood were locked in a solid and engaging game, with the Warrior’s becoming victorious.
