Morphe, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Sephora, Mac, Too Faced, and many more. These are all extremely popular brands of makeup in our world today. Now, obviously makeup has been around for centuries, but lately it has swept our nation's attention dramatically. Statistics, like the ones available at likeable.com, tells us that in 2016, the cosmetic industry was at it’s all time high. The makeup fad has taken over all medias. The opposition older people have today towards makeup is that it makes young men and women believe that wearing makeup is essential to “beauty.” I disagree on many levels because I believe makeup has more pros than cons.
On my bad days, I know I can always fleek my brows and pop on some highlight to boost my mood. Makeup is a definite confidence booster. Whether you have low self-esteem or not, a little lipstick never killed anybody.
Makeup is also a great way to help hide insecurities like scars, blemishes, or imperfections. Many acne sufferers have turned to makeup as a cover up to make them feel better about themselves. Many face products like foundation, primer, and moisturizer also have ingredients in them that benefit your skin. These same products can also have SPF in them too, to help protect your skin from future damage.
Whether your face is “beat” or naked, everyone is beautiful in their own way. Makeup is an artistic outlet for some and a confidence booster for others. Makeup is not essential to being beautiful, but it can certainly complete your beauty within.
