Throughout our lives, we are told many things we cannot do. Or at least, there are people who just do not think we can do it. Personally, many have told me that I cannot make it big in swimming. I have been told that because I am from a small town in rural Pennsylvania, that I have no competition to even call myself good. However, it is our job to block them out and strive in life to be whatever we want. If you want to be the CEO of a multi-million dollar company, work for it. If you want to be valedictorian, study, pay attention, and keep higher grades. Under no circumstances should you listen to the haters. My point is, there are those people in life that want to bring you down. I say, to the devil's place with them! 

Do you remember how when we were younger, we were asked what we wanted to be when we grow up? Most guys had generally the same idea. Police officer, firefighter, astronaut, even the president was mentioned. But, I wanted to be an Olympian. However, my goal "was unrealistic". Thinking back on that now, I wish I had not let that get into my head. I succumbed to their words and let go of my dream. 

My header is a picture of a road sign with change on the next exit. That sums up what I am trying to say. Change is all around when people tell you what you cannot do and what you should do instead. However, it is our job to take control of our own lives and keep driving straight. So, do me a favor and be yourself, not what people want you to be.
