I’ve been to Washington D.C. many times in the past to visit family and to explore the city. Only when I went in the summer of 2016, did I see the city in a new light. Washington is a city full of culture and ethnicity. Every corner you turn, you will see many people of different races and colors. Personally, I find this comforting to know that America can be so open and loving to immigrants.
People have different opinions on immigrants coming into America. Many agree and many disagree that this is a good idea. I see America as a place of peace and power. We can get anything we ask for, which is why I believe we should build up our country as a whole and help all the people in need then go to other countries to spread our democracy, money, and positive energy. Sadly, I highly doubt this would ever happen.
I also love Washington for its beauty. I find the city of Washington beautiful from the streets to the monuments. I love taking a nice long walk down the streets of D.C. Especially in the summer, the warm breeze through your hair, the sound of the people on the streets playing music or even the sight of the people on the street break dancing for money. The sight of cherry blossoms blowing in the wind is a truly exquisite sight you just have to see. From all the times I’ve been to D.C. my favorite performers were a violinist and a man that would do this odd dance disconnecting his arm to make all these peculiar shapes.
The metro is also another thing I enjoy in the city. I love to sit on the train and watch the different people pass in and out to go to their destinations. I enjoy meeting a few of the friendly people on the way. The metro may be a little dirty, but it is never boring. Every time I go to Washington, my love for the city grows greater.
