FBLA at Wellsboro Area High School

During the 2016-17 school year, Wellsboro Area High School has added a new club and organization to the radar. The Future Business Leaders of America has joined the High School. In previous years, the club has been at the middle school level but had yet to reach the high school. With the help of a few students fighting for the organization, it finally reached the high school.

FBLA is a worldwide organization that has influence a lot of people’s lives. The organization has many benefits such as scholarships and just learning basics for jobs in the business field.

This year, there are 8 members in the organization, with the help of the advisor Mr. Davis. As previous years at the middle school show, it will grow over the following years. The Middle School level has about 70-80 members in their chapter this year.

So far this year, the members have taken their Competitive Event tests, went to the Regional Leadership Conference on January 4, 2017, and had a Little Caesers fundraiser for their end of the year trip. The organization has meetings every month to go over different business such as community service, fundraising, and a field trip at the end of the year. This year the members are planning to go to Splash Lagoon.

The members also plan to do some fundraising and community service in the following months. They plan to do a chicken BBQ in April and are hopefully going to volunteer at the local animal shelter and gather stuff for Goodies For Troops.
