Connectors are a group of 10-12 grade students selected by teachers and students who assist freshmen and new students adjust to the high school, provide peer support in a safe and confidential manner, make referrals to school and district services, engage in a variety of activities that benefit our classmates.
What is your favorite part about being a connector?
Janessa Davis (12) “Being able to be overly friendly without it being weird.”
Lizzie Poirier (11) “I love giving tours. I always tell the people they look familiar even when they don’t because it’s a good conversation starter.”
David Straniere (12) “ I really enjoy helping others in general, and being able to help someone that is nervous or scared of all the things that seem frightening, makes me feel that I am doing my part to help the school that helped me so much.”
In what way did a connector help you as a new student to the high school?
Jacob Trowbridge (9) “Dave helped me find my way around school on the first day.”
Abigail Colton (9) “They offered to answer any questions we had in homeroom and gave us information on the school.”
Chelsea Morris (9) “The connectors have been very helpful to me, and many others too. It's nice to know that they will help me if I ever need anything."
What do connectors do?
Kaitlyn Kramer (11) “We help new students and incoming freshman, tutor, give tours.”
Olivia Kurtz (12) “We help new students adapt to the high school."
Brandon Lamphier (12) “We are a group of students who seeks to aid anyone who may need assistance or anyone in need of help to be acclimated to the school.”
