Known as the biggest celebration in Louisiana, Mardi Gras, or Shrove Tuesday, is a two-weeks celebration that is held the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Every year, millions of people fill the streets of New Orleans to watch the fantastic floats and dancers.
The most extravagant floats are built to celebrate Mardi Gras, but one eye stopping float that has mocked the Atlanta Falcons because of their loss to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
New Orleans Saints fans celebrated the Falcon’s loss with floats decorated in mockery of the team.
One side of float had pictures of both Matt Ryan (Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback) and Julio Jones (Atlanta Falcons wide receiver) with the caption “The Young and the Ringless.” On top of the float had an enormous voodoo doll with pins puncturing it and the Saints logo on its side.
On another float, there was a falcon sitting in a pot of gumbo with the words “Dirty Bird Gumbo” written across it.
Although the Falcons beat the Saints in the NFC championship this season, the Saints won a Super Bowl back in 2010. Heated arguments were made by fans from both teams.
Falcon’s fans immediately took to social media, responding on Twitter about the insulting floats.
“Lol gotta love confidence of a city coming off with three consecutive losing seasons and a current 2 game L streak against Quinn,” a Falcon’s fan tweeted.
Saints fans responded saying that there was some sort of voodoo or how else could the Falcons blow a tremendous 25-point lead in the first half.
