When I heard that they were having a new TV show about horror, people my age, and summer camp I just HAD TO jump in on it! And boy am I glad I did! The show takes place in a summer camp called Camp Stillwater in the year 1989. Which also means a little bit of a learning experience to learn more about old clothes and old technology. But I think that just makes it a whole lot scarier. Since back then they didn’t have cell phones. And that in itself would make a whole lot of people scared just by that sheer fact. The show premiered on June 28th 2016. Which means that you can still get in on it before a new season starts. But the fact that the show is IN summer probably means that it will only be a summer series. And since the show didn’t get as many views as other shows on “Freeform” such as “Pretty Little Liars” might mean the channel might not pick it up for another season. But I can still keep my hopes Up! Amy the main character is the “new” girl at camp. She seems innocent at first but that’s probably all I should say about her. Almost all the episodes give you a glimpse into why the characters are the way they are. It also tells you how they first got involved with the camp. Although the show received a lot of mixed reviews because of the fact that it might not appeal to older generations and that the show isn’t “Scary Scary” and feels more like a mystery rather than a horror show. You start to feel for the characters and feel like you're actually there at times. The good news is that Dead of Summer is an original and isn’t linked to past horror franchises. Fingers crossed there’s a SECOND SEASON!!!. If you like “Once Upon a Time” you’ll LOVE this show. Since some of same people that have worked on “Once Upon a Time” are working on this show. It’s sort of like a reunion for the people that have worked on “Once Upon a Time.”
