Friday September 23rd Student council is having a Gold Out in support and recognition of pediatric cancer patients. You dress in gold or yellow. In addition to getting class competition points you also could win a five dollar Java Hive gift car. During lunches this week, Student Council members will be collecting donations for ThinkBIG. ThinkBIG is an organization that raises money and volunteer time for pediatric cancer. The football game the night of Friday is also a gold out! Seniors, Kelsey Logan and Jessica Grab both supported the cause! “I know it’s for the pediatric people, and it’s seriously so sad.” Says Kelsey. “I couldn’t wear gold because I had to wear my cheerleading shirt, but I painted my nails! I’m definitely donating too.” Says Senior, Bailey Fuller.
Sophomore, Taylor Cavanaugh decided to show her support also! “I have a close emotional attachment to things like cancer. I think it’s great our school is doing something like this, and not just a simple dress-up day.” Says Taylor. Sophomore, Elizabeth Macias says, “I think this is one of the best dress up days we’ve ever had. I like this rather than some random weird color I wouldn’t ever have in my closet.” Last but not least Freshman, Chelsea Morris says her opinion, “It’s fun and a great helpful thing to do.” In the words of the students we should do more meaningful dress-up days. Don’t forget to donate during your lunch times!
