Man, I hate writer's block. This never really happens to me though. I like to say I was cursed with the act of shutting down when I'm upset, but blessed with the gift of writing at the same time. The only problem is when I can't think straight and try to write and I write complete nonsense. I asked my English teacher what to do when the much dreaded writing block monster comes and she simply told me it didn't exist. My first response wanted to be me running and screaming and trading bodies with her to experience what I am, but I could only mutter, "What?" She simply told me it was a figment of imagination and to begin writing lounge twisters and that would wake up my mind. Let me tell you, they're not as easy as they seem. The best one I came up with was, Danny dines during Dexter's day, try saying that ten times fast. Anyways, that didn't exactly work, so I began finding writing prompts which I can proudly say helped a bunch. So if from time to time, your mind decides to play the writing's block trick on you, just know that writing prompts helped me a bunch.
