It's Okay to be Lost...

"Not all those who wander are lost" - J.R.R Tolkien

Being a high school senior isn't easy. You've spent the last four years learning about your fellow classmates, and maturing with them. The halls you've roamed become home. You're not sure how the next years of your life will play out. You're completely... lost.

However, being a little lost isn't exactly a bad thing. You don't know exactly how your life will play out, and that’s okay. Nothing in life is certain. One day you think everything is all figured out, and the next day is completely opposite to what you had planned. Life changes every day, every minute, and every second. What you have to realize is that you will lose yourself before you find what really makes you happy. Nothing in life will ever be handed to you. You must go out and find it yourself.

Most of us are worrying about what colleges we want to go to and what we want to major in, but not all of us are exactly sure what we want to do. I am one of those students. People constantly ask me where I want to go, and what I want to be. I never know the answers to those questions. I have no idea where I'm headed and I'm okay with that. I want adventure. I don’t want to be stuck behind the same routine of planning my entire life out. But if you do, please continue that.

The most important thing you can do for yourself is to make yourself happy whether that means perfectly planning your day out, or just following where life decides to take you. For all my fellow seniors, remember that it is okay to be lost. You will find yourself when you are ready.

Why hello there! I'm currently a senior in high school, and I'm hoping to attend Mercy College or NYU next fall. I plan on majoring in psychology. My favorite subjects are Anatomy/Physiology and English. My favorite colors are Tiffany blue, black, and gold (and glitter!). I am an avid Harry Potter lover, as well as a lover of Tim Burton!
