The advanced technology we have in the world is a huge benefit. Some people learn a lot better when they have the assistance of the internet and can use it for reference. There is an argument as to whether we should even memorize things anymore or if we should just search the answers. I agree that there are plenty of benefits to the internet and “Google”, and we should use these to our advantage to learn.
We have the capability of creating a generation full of intelligent people, with the help of technology. There are particular things that do not need to be memorized in order to have a sufficient education. My argument would be that students need to think instead of memorize. There are definitely other ways to acquire knowledge instead of taking a test. A large majority of students immediately forget what they have “memorized” right after they take a test. If students can use a search engine, their minds are still being challenged to think and they will most likely be able to remember things for longer because they are engaged.
We cannot become completely reliant on a search engine, however, we have so many opportunities to learn with the use of “Google”. I personally believe that the use of the internet is increasing our interest to learn. Old methods like just plain memorizing is sometimes very tedious and doesn’t spark motivation in students.
