Tioga Country is a rural area in northern Pennsylvania. Many people in our area love the woods, four wheelers, and fishing. Tioga county is a very people place and it's not a shock that the Grand Canyon is a popular tourist attraction. The pictures above and on the header are from my backyard. It's very calming to just walk through there after a long day. 

    Some of my family lives in other states. About four years ago they came to visit and their favorite thing about the town was how beautiful it was. Just this July, some of my aunts and uncles came up and it was very entertaining seeing these city people go out in the woods on the ATVs. My one aunt ended up putting mud on her face and you could hear her hollering from outside the forest.  

     There are many things to do in our small town, Wellsboro. Each year we have our famous Laurel Festival. The week long event includes an art and crafts fair, pet parade, a pageant, foot races, and children's health fair.

      There is also the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. On each side of the canyon, there is a park. One side there is an overlook and quite a few hiking paths, known as Leonard Harrison State Park. There are a couple paths down in the canyon you can actually walk along the Pine Creek! With the Creek, there are camp grounds that are right on the creek. There are rentals towards one end of the creek for kayaks and other supplies. You could have an entire week just enjoying the canyon's beauty. 

       Every December, Wellsboro also has Dickens Of A Christmas. Vendors set up tables down the streets. Local businesses are ready to sell their items. Make sure you brink warm clothes! There is almost always snow on the ground and hot chocolate ready to be sold!
