High school relationships are never easy. When we first arrive as freshmen they can seem all so exciting but as we get older its not really the case anymore. As they get very, very complicated. Jealousy ensues; we fall hard, and unfortunately some of us end up with broken hearts.
We learn about relationships in health class. It may be some help for some of us, but not for all of us. It is easier to hear about them from people our age. In this very short interview, I asked a current student about their view on relationships. There will be advice given and a personal experience with their relationships shown.
Q: "How has your view of relationships from freshmen to senior year changed?"
A: "Throughout high school I always tried to find the right person. I wanted to find love my sophomore through the beginning of senior year. I look at love with more caution now because of the bad experiences. I've had the mindset that not everyone is what they seem..."
Everyone should have caution when it comes to love in high school. Sometimes, it isn't even love. It is just an infatuation, and just loving the fact of being in a relationship and not being in love with a person.
Q: "Describe your relationship in three words and explain why you chose them."
A: "Amazing, trustful, forever..." These three words are very powerful. Relationships should always be taken seriously. To say you will be with someone forever is a commitment that is truly special.
Q: "What advice would you give on high school relationships?"
A: "My advice would be true love never dies, and if it does it was never true love." In addition to this amazing advice, I must give my own input. Relationships are not always easy. You may just want to jump into a relationship with someone in high school, but that isn't always the best thing to do. Don't rush. Let love come to you when you are ready. That may happen very early in life, and if it does cherish it. But if you feel like you never find love, trust me, you will. Take everything one day at a time.
