As a true fan of the New Jersey Devils, I can say "why can't the season end now, so we don't have to deal with this major skid we are in right now!"  My theory on how they should execute and win is simple; the Devils GM , Ray Shero and head coach,  John Hynes, in the  approaching offseason should look at the current roster extending into the '17-'18 season (not including players who signed a 1 year contract going into the '16-'17 season like vern fiddler etc.) and see what is on defense. Defense is killing our team this season!  The Devils really only have 2 players on defense who can produce and they are Andy Greene and Ben Lovejoy.  If I'm Ray Shero and the season just ended and we just missed the playoffs again this is what I would do with the roaster;  re-sign Kyle Quincy because he contributes in some ways (depending on how he does for the rest of the year).  Put Jon Merril on waivers along with Gazdic, depending on Vern Fiddler's injury re-sign him and  re-sign Beau Bennett.   Many people see Bennett as just another forward on this team because he hasn't scored a lot of goals this season BUT he is still a great playmaker. if he were to be a bit better this NJ Devils team would be great!  The last one is Pa Parenteau; he is a great hockey player with lots of potential so i would say keep him.  He is one of the Devils leading goal scorers with Henrique and Palms and this kid is a great hockey player!  The Devils need to sign great defenseman who will attack because what we have isn't cutting it.  We have to get good guys to help Greene and Lovejoy, SCORE!
