Every year our high school designates an activity schedule to block time out of our normal day so we can pick clubs! This year a few new exciting clubs have been added such as Creative Writers, Drama, Dr. Who, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Fitness Center Workout, Improv, LMC, and Metal Shop clubs. Each year the teachers try to make new clubs that would more benefit the students interests!

  Senior, Aleah Abplanalp joined the exclusive Art Show Club. She says, “I love art, and I just enjoy helping set up for the art show!” Students in this club will work to frame students’ work throughout the year to display at our district-wide art show in May.

  Other students opted for a study hall during our club activity time. “I didn’t join a club, mostly because there wasn’t one I really liked,” states Makayla McMichael.

  Kaycee Kaltenbach added, “I joined the FFA club because I’m an officer and I had to. Plus it’s really fun!” Mrs. Berndtson advises the FFA class and club. Our Grand Canyon chapter is extremely active and takes several trips throughout the year.

  Sophomores Ariana McMichael, Kara Sweatland, and Kylea Smith all joined the spirit club together. Kylea says, “We joined because we like spreading all the joy and cheer of school spirit! It’s pretty fun.” Spirit club is advised by Mrs. West and students work to decorate the school and students’ lockers.
