Marshall Mathers, (Born: October 17, 1972) known to hip-hop fans as Eminem, is a groundbreaking rapper, songwriter, record producer and actor from the 8 Mile district of Detroit, Michigan. As the protégé of rap legend Dr. Dre, Eminem became the top-selling musician of the 2000s in America, collecting fifteen Grammy awards and one Academy Award along the way. Having grown up in a low-income family and battled drug abuse throughout his life, he later established the Marshall Mathers Foundation to aid disadvantaged and troubled youth.
