This week 2 chess tournament players visited SJR competing against all grades in the school. Their ages were 7 and 10 which was very odd, but they still ended beating all our high school students! The 7 and 10 year old are on chess leaderboards and even ranked in the country, with many experience competing against others in chess tournaments from other states. Only a couple kids that day managed to tie meanwhile others lost, this says age doesn’t matter but it depends on the experience of the player. This lesson was learned that day of all students who attended the chess tournament to watch as well.
