JHS Christmas Cantata

This year Juniata High School’s performance of Joseph M. Martin's Christmas cantata Season of Wonders will be held at 5:00 on Sunday, December 11th in the auditorium. It includes renditions of "Come Thou Long Expected Jesus," "All on a Starry Night," "O Holy Night," and many more. The composer, Joseph Martin, has written many other arrangements that have been played at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and many other locations across the country.

The 68-member high school chorus has been practicing since September and will be joined on stage by 31 community members. Community members met for rehearsal once per week beginning in mid-October and will rehearse with the student chorus this week for the first time. Maddy Walters, Karrigan Zeiders, and Pishima Calloway will be featured in the three solo parts. Other members will help narrate, as Mrs. Storey’s tableau reenacts the story of Jesus’s birth.

Season of Wonders will warm your heart as it “Celebrates the Miracle of Christmas.” Conductor, Mr. Brad Eargle, believes that the cantata "strikes a nice balance between being both enjoyable and challenging for the students." About the preparation for the show, he says, "All of the individuals involved in this project have put in a tremendous effort over the past few months, and I am quite proud of all that we've accomplished!"

Please join us this Sunday as the Juniata High School and Community Chorus members present Joseph Martin’s Season of Wonders
