Spring is the time when many people prepare their gardens for the growing season. There are certain hacks that can make your gardening experience much more enjoyable. 

1. Once the weather clears you will need to go to your garden and get rid of all the debris. Everything from leftover snow to dead leaves must go, especially weeds. There will be numberless weeds in the garden that have to be removed. You can not forget to remove the roots as well. Just rake it out and clean it up. You will find that you will have much more success if you do this.  

2. Once your soil is in top shape and your garden is good to go, you must add mulch. This will help to make sure that your moisture levels remain correct. But what mulch also does is prevent weeds. This is very important since it reduces the number of weeds in your garden. Weeds are terrible for a garden. 

3. If you had plants that survived the winter then this hack is for you. You should trim down the surviving plants so that they will sprout again in the springtime. But it is important to keep in mind that it may be more beneficial to wait until April or May before pruning, just in case there is an unpredicted snowstorm that occurs. 

4. Winters are hard on the soil and you may find that after a long and brutal winter that the soil in your garden is packed down and dry. This is not good for growing. But don’t fear- there is a simple solution. Compost or manure can go a long way to help the soil. It is imperative that you use fertilizer if you want a successful garden.
