Aretha Franklin: The Queen of Soul

Aretha Louise Franklin was born on March 25, 1942. Her parents were C.L. and Barbara. She was one of the best African American singers in history. Not only was she a very talented singer and songwriter, but she was also a pianist and a civil rights activist. When she first began her career, she started singing gospel at New Bethel Baptist Church, where her father was a minister. When she was 18, she began recording with Columbia records. After that, that's when her career skyrocketed. In 2015, she sang a song about Carole King, called You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman. She sang and sang for many people for many years.  Unfortunately, she died on August 16. 2018. She left behind her children, Teddy, Clarence, Edward, and Kecalf. She was a legend, whose memory will be sent on for years and years to come.
