North Carolina ID Law Nixed
The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the state of North Carolina's appeal of a previous court ruling that found that its legislature intended to discriminate against minorities through strict voter ID regulations. The court's action leaves in place a federal appellate court ruling which previously struck down portions of the law and blocked its enforcement.

What'd He Say?
In a story that seems to evolve by the minute, President Trump defended his right to share classified information with Russian officials during a White House visit. The administration sent out Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, the national security adviser, to clarify it's position that the original Washington Post article about the conversation “as reported” was “false.” General McMaster said the President did not expose the source because he was not told where it came from.

White House Turmoil
The fallout from all things Russian continues to be a an unwanted distraction for the Trump administration. As the President prepares to leave on his first overseas trip, there are reports that the White House staff is scrambling to get Trump on message before he departs Washington on Friday for a nine-day trip to Saudi Arabia, Israel, the Vatican, Brussels and Italy.

Chelsea Manning Free
Chelsea Manning, the former Army intelligence analyst behind one of the largest leaks of classified information in history, walked out of prison a free woman. Manning's sentence was commuted by President Barack Obama as one of his final acts in office.
